“Compassion is a verb.”

– Thich Nhat Hanh

“Our tendency is to be interested in something that is growing in the garden, not in the bare soil itself. But if you want to have a good harvest, the most important thing is to make the soil rich and cultivate it well.”

– Shunryu Suzuki

Shape Of My Heart (Cover)

Lately I’ve been feeling pretty anxious and zoned out even when I’m with the people I love. Whether I’m with my family or my closest friends, I seem to always be either caught in deep thought or in deep thought randomly. I guess with the days coming closer to me moving out of my house and away from a comfort that I’ve molded myself into has got me really thinking.
Watching this video along with the cover of one of my favorite Sting songs has made me feel at ease. I often find myself plugging my headphones in, staring at my ceiling, and listening to this cover and the actual song on repeat. There is just this soothing sensation that is enraptured within the lyrics and the chords.

Food For Thought

“To dwell in the here and now does no mean you never think about the past or responsibly plan for the future. The idea is simply not to allow yourself to get lost in regrets about the past or worries about the future. If you are firmly grounded in the present moment, the past can be an object of inquiry, the object of mindfulness and concentration. You can attain insights by looking into the past. But you are still grounded in the present moment.”

– Thich Nhat Hanh
